India’s Contentino Media, a subsidiary of Shemaroo Entertainment, has acquired exclusive distribution rights to Keshet International’s international content for airlines across Asia and the Middle East.

The deal will see Contentino grow its content portfolio with Keshet International Studio library titles, which include its own productions including Israel’s Prisoners of War, upon which US drama Homeland was based. Keshet also distributes content such as the UK show The A Word, and US series The Brave.

“This deal with Contentio Media demonstrates our strategic approach to audience building. The Asia Pacific market is predicted to be the fastest growing region for global in-flight entertainment and we hope this deal leads to other opportunities elsewhere,” said Gary Pudney, head of Asia, Keshet International.

Contentino Media already provides content in nine Indian languages for inflight entertainment to around 55 airlines, including Jet Airways, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways. It was acquired by Shemaroo in 2015.
