While Indian consumers keep inclining more towards digital services for entertainment options, and open arms to welcome international web streaming mediums, DTH streaming major Netflix has reportedly signed a deal worth Rs 120 crore with ace Bollywood actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan for his next venture. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Netflix has set deals with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ and Aamir Khan, offering them the rights for the sattelite and digital promotion and streaming for their next ventures. The actors will retain the worldwide theatrical and music rights for the films. However, neither of the two parties have officially confirmed the signing of the deal, which is possibly one of the biggest digital and sattelite deal locked in Bollywood till date.

After an overwhelming success at the box office with, ‘Dangal’, a biographical sports drama on former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his two wrestler daughters’ struggle to glory, Aamir Khan is all set for a new venture. In another spectacular attempt to try something ‘different’, Aamir, this time, will be trying to enact a rare incident of an Indian who created history by flying into the space for the first time from the country. In his upcoming movie, the actor-filmmaker, known for taking humongous challenges, will be depicting the life of Rakesh Sharma, in an attempt to rebuild the historic moment when the astronaut flew into the space 34 years ago.

According to a report by the Mumbai Mirror, a source, who confirmed that Siddharth Roy Kapur has approached Aamir khan, was quoted saying, “Sid had approached Aamir with the script of his last film and this time too he went straight to him. The 2018 film will be made under his newly-launched banner RK Films (Roy Kapur Films). It will be directed by Mahesh Mathai.”

Reportedly, the movie expected to release in 2018 will be jointly produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Aamir Khan. And once again with tons of expectations on the upcoming Aamir Khan movie, the movie might as well depict the most memorable exchange of words between the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Rakesh Sharma. While asked how the country looks from the space, Sharma replied the Prime Minister, saying, “saare jahan se achcha.” – Financial Express
