PositiveShift, a skill development company offering learning solutions through an online platform, plans to launch a dedicated TV channel for learning and raise up to USD 15 million to fund its expansion plans.
The learning network platform, www.wiise.in has been developed with a seed fund of USD 750,000 and includes WIISE online, TV, Connect, Start and Junior.
Vijay Ketan Mitra, CEO of PositiveShift, said, “As a skill development company for the past four years, we offer affordable access to quality learning. As we expand our platform to reach out, we will soon begin operations of the TV channel dedicated for learning.”
“To fund our expansion plans, we plan to raise up to USD 15 million and are in talks with private equity companies,” he said.
Vivek Reddy, Chief Business Officer, said, “Our objective is to bring top-rated interactive courses and certifications from across the world through respected Global Academic Institutes and industry experts to learners of in the country. Beyond conventional online medium, we also plan to launch WIISE TV, which will be direct to home , to offer classes and WIISE Connect to reach out and connect to tier II and III centres.”
WIISE has been running an entrepreneurship programme for trainers and the 19th batch is set to start shortly. Through tie ups with premier institutes, the company plans to offer live virtual courses beginning this summer. The company has signed up with IIM Lucknow and Goa Institute of Management among others.
