CNN International has named Nikhil Kumar as its New Delhi bureau chief to spearhead strategic planning of the network’s multi-platform news coverage in the region.

He also had a spell as New York correspondent for the UK’s The Independent newspaper and the London Evening Standard.

“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Nikhil Kumar as the New Delhi Bureau Chief as we reaffirm our deep commitment to India,” CNN International senior vice president and managing editor Ellana Lee said.
