The union government has simplified the procedure to apply as a multi-signal operator (MSO) for working as a cable operator. The ministry of information and broadcasting will accept online applications for running digital cable services as MSOs from September 1 at its portal

Bathinda deputy commissioner Diprava Lakra said as per the new instructions, the ministry had asked the deputy commissioners that manual applications regarding the same would not be accepted any more. He said the online registration was started on May 1, 2017, but the same was not mandatory. As per rules, it is now mandatory to file online applications only on the portal.
