Sony Entertainment Television has moved up to No.3 dislodging ZEE TV in the urban market, according to official data from BARC India for Week 40 of 2016.

Star Plus was the most watched Hindi entertainment channel in the Urban market with 458.945 million Impressions, followed by Colors with 392.333 million Impressions and a resurgent, Sony TV at No.3 with 293.844 million Impressions. The channel has been slowly climbing up the ratings ladder owing to the success of its new programming line-up. In fourth place was ZEE TV with 286.379 million Impressions and at No.5 was Life Ok with 275.365 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Urban market was ‘Brahmarakshas’ on ZEE TV with 6.833 million Impressions, followed by ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ on Sony TV with 6.789 million Impressions and ‘Shakti’ on Colors in third with 6.409 million Impressions.

In the Rural market, ZEE Anmol returned to No.1 with 382.681 million Impressions, followed by Star Utsav at No.2 with 314.049 million Impressions, Sony Pal was in third with 273.997 million Impressions, Rishtey with 261.573 million Impressions and Star Plus at No.5 with 219.001 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Rural market was ‘Jodha Akbar’ with 5.594 million Impressions, followed by ‘Naagin’ on Rishtey with 5.330 million Impressions and ‘Bandini’ on ZEE Anmol with 5.077 million Impressions. - Media247
