Doordarshan plans to revamp its network in 2019

The union cabinet has approved providing the public broadcaster over `1054 crore for a 3-year period till 2020 for strengthening broadcast infrastructure and network development. Out of this, an amount of `619.48 crore has been approved for Doordarshan. DD India is a part of the broader strategy to revamp the DD network in 2019. The entire network is looking at a revamp, in terms of the content strategy and all things one wants on a television screen, be it the look and feel of the channel, the graphics on it, the way a particular idea or theme is presented, the kind of feedback the network gets from its viewers, and the social media promotion and publication, asserted Supriya Sahu, director-general, Doordarshan.
