Analogue TV To Be Switched Off In Rio De Janeiro And Sao Paulo At End November
The Digital TV Deployment Group (Gired) has proposed to Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications that the analogue TV signal switch off takes place on 28 November in the west of the state of Parana, in the south of Rio Grande do Sul. In the interior of Rio de Janeiro and in the interior of Sao Paulo, switch off will begin on 28 November and complete on 12 December.
With the analogue switch off, the 700 MHz band, currently occupied by free-to-air channels, will be released for 4G mobile telephony and internet services.― Telecompaper
