Netflix Surges In Poland
Netflix ended 2018 as the second most popular VOD service in Poland, overtaking CDA.pl. Player.pl and TVP.pl-VOD in the process.
According to data produced by Gemius/PBI for Wirtualne Media, Netflix had 3,360,308 users in December 2018, up from 1,307,186 in the corresponding month in 2017.
It had 42,054,373 opens (16,973,159), with the average usage time being 10 mins 41 seconds (10 minutes 33 seconds).
Its reach of 11.96 percent was up from 4.74 percent a year earlier. The market leader was vod.pl, which had 4,005,956 users, compared to 3,972,564 a year earlier.
Its reach, at 14.26 percent, was also much greater than that of any others service.
Wirtualne Media also notes that HBO GO has overtaken ipla.tv, while Showmax and nc+ saw significant falls in usage.
Showmax is set to leave the Polish market, with and public broadcasting TVP having expressed interest in buying its assets.―WorldProNews
