All India Radio Launches FM Station In Nellore

National Public Broadcaster, All India Radio has announced its launch in Nellore Andhra Pradesh.

Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, who inaugurated this milestone FM base in Nellore, also tweeted about it. This station would be beneficial to the localities as it would be launched in Nellore’s local languages.

Venkaiah Naidu’s tweet read, “Delighted to be present here to inaugurate the All India Radio FM Station at Nellore today.”

“I am happy that the people of Nellore will have access to All India Radio’s programming in the local language with local flavor. @AkashvaniAIR @airnewsalerts,” he further said in his tweet.

In 2017 April, AIR had promised that it will go a long way in promoting local talent and come up with a lot of initiatives, they would also be supportive in the growth of social and economic development of the region.

This 2019, a landmark decision about AIR news bulletins being available to Private FM stations in the country was a big news. Prasar Bharti’s Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development scheme, which was approved recently has granted 435.04 crore for radio and FM development, modernization as well as to expand AIR’s footprint in border areas.

When it comes to the recent updates of All India Radio did pay a tribute to Maharaja Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar and did broadcast a musical series during his birth centenary year. Maharaja Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar was a connoisseur in western and Carnatic music. AIR did feature his 94 rare compositions.

Also, AIR’s programming in Shillong in its Radio Bridge Programme had a panel discussion on the topic Medical Tourism and Health Care in North East, where panellists from different radio stations had a discussion over this topic.—RM Biz
