Finepoint Reports Highly Successful ISE 2019
Finepoint Broadcast Ltd, a globally active supplier of equipment, systems, rental and technical support services to the broadcast and AV markets, reports a highly successful Integrated Systems Europe show. Held at the Amsterdam RAI from Tuesday, February 5th through Friday 8th, the event this year attracted more than 1296 exhibiting companies and over 80,923 registered attendees.
“ISE this year fully lived up to its reputation as the world’s largest, best attended and busiest AV-focused event,” comments Finepoint Broadcast Managing Director Giles Bendig. “This is a market sector which takes training very seriously, running a parallel programme of educational events organized by AVIXA and CEDIA. The show itself continues to provide really useful opportunities to network with suppliers and customers, existing and potential, and to get hands-on experience of the latest AV hardware. Even in today’s software-intensive world, hardware continues to play a major role especially in categories such as image projection and touchscreen displays.”
“ISE has long been the AV industry’s preferred launch pad for new products, adds Finepoint Broadcast’s AV Sales Manager Paul MacKenzie. “ISE 2019 was notable for real innovation with introductions such as Altia Systems’ Panacast 3. This uses real-time image stitching to create an ultra-wide 180-degree field of view in 4K resolution. Designed for USB plug-and-play, it is a truly open device.”
“Canon demonstrated its new XEED 4K6020Z 4K laser projector, a compact 56 x 62 x 20 cm unit with 6,000-lumen brightness and 20,000 hour light source life which can be extended to 40,000 hours in ultra-long-life mode. Features include motorized zoom and focus plus horizontal and vertical keystone correction.”
“Mersive’s Solstice showed new software which allows wireless presentations from practically any IT platform. The Solstice Dashboard allows administrators to determine a guest network and restrict configuration access accordingly. Solstice products can be used in broadcast mode if the environment allows. The Solstice Discovery Service (SDS) gives end users the same click-to-connect experience as if all devices were broadcasting. It lists the device IP addresses in a directory installed on a Windows machine on the network.”
“Logitech’s Tap is a 10.1-inch universal touchscreen designed to make collaboration rooms easy to deploy and use. It comes complete with a small-form-factor computer running room-optimized video conferencing software from Google, Microsoft or Zoom, plus a Logitech conference cam. An HDMI input is included for easy content sharing.”
“Polycom exhibited its new Studio USB plug-and-play video bar which has an integral 4K video camera plus the ability to mute and remove distracting background noises and other unwanted sounds. Automatic group framing focuses on participants, adjusting the view as they enter and leave the room to ensure everyone is clearly visible. Speaker tracking automatically finds and zooms in on the active presenter.”
“The SDVoE Alliance demonstrated HDMI input and output modules that plug directly into a Netgear M4300-96X 10G modular managed switch. This eliminates the need for standalone encoders and decoders, simplifying installation and reducing overall system cost. IT and AV are combined at product level rather than at an infrastructure level.”
“IDK’s IP-Ninjar is one of the world’s first AV over IP platforms, a 4K solution employing off-the-shelf 10 Gb Ethernet switches. It enables the extension, switching and distribution of true 4K/UHD 4:4:4 at 60 Hz signals with practically zero latency.”
“Yamaha’s YVC-200, making its ISE debut, is a compact conferencing speakerphone which fits in the palm of a user’s hand. It incorporates adaptive echo cancellation and human voice activity detection. Users can easily hear what is being said and heard, enabling highly productive team collaboration anywhere.”
“ISE returns to Amsterdam in February 2020 before relocating to a larger venue: the Fira de Barcelona.”―BCS Bureau
