Sony Pictures Networks India acquires exclusive digital and TV rights to US Open
Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has signed a three-year deal to broadcast the US Open from August 2022. As part of the deal, the broadcaster will get exclusive media rights (TV and digital) to the global sporting event between 2022- 24. The 2022 iteration of the US Open will be televised on SPN sports channels across the Indian subcontinent – Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives. Matches will also be available live on their premium OTT platform SonyLIV.
As the home of tennis, Sony has been and will continue to serve India’s growing tennis fan base, said Rajesh Kaul, Director of Revenue, Distribution and Head of Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India. “We are delighted to acquire the media rights to the US Open, the final leg of the tennis Grand Slam calendar, making us the premier destination for tennis fans in India and the subcontinent,” he said. he added.
