YuppTV bags broadcasting rights for Asia Cup 2022
An ace global OTT platform, Yupp TV has bagged the broadcasting rights for Asia cup 2022, the latest edition of the tournament which will be happening after a staggering 4 years due to the spoilsport played by the pandemic. The contest will be kickstarting with a battle between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan while the following day will stay witness to an age-old battle of India and Pakistan.
The tournament can be viewed on Yupp TV’s streaming platforms in 70 nations encompassing the likes of Hong-Kong (non-exclusive), New Zealand, South East Asia and Japan (barring Singapore) and Continental Europe, Malaysia, and Australia (n0n-exclusive).
The fray will be spanning for 14 days that would start on the 27th August, and would continue till 11th September. There will be a total of 6 teams vying for glory featuring the likes of India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong. Asia Cup is deemed as the biggest continental fray and one of the most significant ICC events.
The matches will be conducted in two venues, Dubai and Sharjah. Dubai is known for its notoriously bowling-conducive tracks where toss plays a crucial factor in determining the shape of the contest. Sharjah, on the contrary, is a relatively smaller ground and can be an absolute paradise for the batters in the first few contests but after the initial fest of runs, it can turn out to be barren land with the bowlers calling the shots.
Hong Kong will be the new addition to this contest after emerging as the qualifier from the recently concluded tournament to determine the final team of the contest. There will also be a string of big names involved featuring the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam, Wanindu Hasaranga that would be making this nothing short of a blockbuster.
