FOX Sports sees nearly 13 million viewers for USA vs Netherlands World Cup match

The United States was eliminated from the 2022 World Cup after a 3-1 defeat to The Netherlands, but the viewership was a ratings win for FOX Sports.

The broadcast averaged nearly 13 million viewers Saturday morning. It averaged 12.966 million, which is up 163% from the 2018 Knockout Round average from the 2018 World Cup, which the United States didn’t participate in. The 12.966 million figure is a slight dip compared to total from the USA’s match against England in the group stage, which saw 15.377 million viewers. That game was the most-watched soccer match in US English-language television history, which was played on Black Friday at 2:00 PM ET.

The match peaked at more than 16 million viewers during the second half of the contest. Nearly 600,000 viewers streamed the match, making in the second-most streamed game of the tournament.

The top five highest-rated markets were Cincinnati, St. Louis, Washington D.C., Kansas City, and Austin. BSM
