Disney Star Network witnesses a groundbreaking record in viewership during the IPL 2023 playoffs
Indian Premier League playoffs recorded its highest ever viewership on Disney Star Network in 2023, breaking the previous record set during IPL 2020.
After the conclusion of playoffs, the total viewership for this edition of IPL reached 49.6 crore, which the network said has created a new record. The network also informed that total consumption for live broadcast stood at 40.9 billion minutes until the final.
Disney Star Network has the TV broadcasting rights while JioCinema has the digital streaming rights.
According to the numbers provided by the network, the Qualifier 2 match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans recorded a peak concurrency of 6.1 crore, making it the most viewed IPL playoff match ever.
Previously, the highest concurrency (5.6 crore) for the current edition was recorded during the Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans match.
Compared to last year, the TV ratings (TVR) of playoffs witnessed a 44% jump. The TVR also surpassed the previous high set during IPL 2020.

JioCinema had also shared its numbers for the first playoff match between CSK and GT. The network said that it recorded 2.5 crore concurrent viewers during the final overs of the match.
IPL began on March 31 this year and concluded on May 28 with Chennai Super Kings emerging as winner of the tournament. Outlook
