Cable TV Association takes on MCC for cutting down cables

Members of the Cable TV Association – on Monday – met Mayor Shivakumar with their complaint against Mysuru City Corporation’s campaign to remove illegal cables from electric poles.

The MCC’s campaign had caused frustration among Cable TV operators forcing them to have a meeting with Mayor Shivakumar.

During the meeting, they appealed to the Mayor to end the cable cutting campaign citing losses.

At this, Mayor Shivakumar clarified that the cable cutting was not intentional.

The Corporation had instructed telephone operators to shift from overhead cables to underground cables. However, since the telephone operators allegedly neglected these instructions, the Corporation resorted to cut down telephone cables. But the MCC workers were mistakenly cutting down TV cables too, clarified Mayor Shivakumar.

However, this clarification did not go well with Mohan Kumar Gowda, president of the Cable TV Association. Expressing dissatisfaction with the MCC’s campaign, he said that the MCC’s actions had caused significant problems for cable operators. Clash between Cescom and MCC has affected the cable TV operators, he observed.

Mohan Kumar issued a warning to the Corporation, stating that they will not tolerate such actions and will teach the civic body a lesson. Elections to the civic body are due. Mysooru News
