Hyderabad Not in India’s Top 3 OTT Subscriptions

The OTT industry has become the most booming business in the Indian entertainment sector since the onset of COVID.

The pandemic gave a significant boost to OTT streaming platforms, and major players like Prime and Hotstar made substantial investments, targeting a large number of paid subscriptions.

When it comes to paid subscriptions in India, Hyderabad has missed the boat, despite being home to the largest film industry and major studios in the city.

According to a recent survey, Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru are the top three cities in terms of paid subscriptions, each having more than 60 lakh active paid subscribers.

The OTT industry has virtually replaced the satellite market for film production houses, with streaming giants offering substantial prices for well-known and big-star films. Many smaller films are surviving solely because of OTT offers. M9.News
