Netflix Dominates Tollywood: Bags OTT rights for
Netflix, recognized as the leading OTT platform in India, is evidently intensifying its focus on Tollywood. In recent years, amidst fierce competition for OTT rights to films featuring A-list heroes, Netflix has consistently secured these rights at substantial prices. Notably, it has already acquired rights to major releases such as “Salaar” and “Guntur Karam.” The latest buzz suggests that Netflix has now clinched the OTT rights for upcoming films starring two more prominent Nandamuri heroes.
According to reports, Netflix has secured the OTT rights for Young tiger NTR’s “Devara” and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s “NBK109” at a considerable price. Netflix officially confirmed this acquisition on their twitter platform, expressing excitement for the wallet PLATFORM digital streaming rights to NTR’s pan-Indian venture and Balakrishna’s telugu regional film “NBK109.” It is speculated that Netflix secured these rights at an impressive rate. Additionally, Netflix disclosed that they have obtained the OTT rights for Vijay Devarakonda’s upcoming film directed by gautham Tinnanuri, along with Siddu Jonnalagadda’s “Tillu Square.”
This move underscores Netflix’s strategic commitment to the telugu market, positioning the platform ahead of its competitors in the region. The eagerly awaited “Devara,” envisioned as a high-voltage action revenge drama, is slated for a two-part release, with the first part scheduled for april 5. Meanwhile, “NBK109,” featuring balakrishna and directed by Bobby, is progressing swiftly, targeting a dussehra release this year. Jointly produced by Sitara Entertainments and Fortune Four Movies, the film is anticipated to capture audiences during the festive season. India Herald
