Together, the Reliance-Disney merged entity will have 120 TV channels. The JV will also be granted exclusive rights to distribute Disney films and productions in India, with a license to more than 30,000 Disney content assets. Viacom18 has the IPL digital streaming rights from 2023 to 2027, and Disney Star has the 5-year TV broadcast rights for IPL.

Subject to necessary approvals, the transaction is expected to close in late 2024 or early 2025. fonearena
