Disney Star elevates Sumanta Bose

Disney Star has elevated Sumanta Bose, who will now oversee Star Bharat, Hindi and English Movies Cluster, Kids and Infotainment Channels, Regional East, Live Entertainment and Network Business Analytics and Insights.

Bose is currently the Business Head for Star Plus, Utsav, Regional East and Content Studio Head for Disney+ Hotstar (Hindi).

Reports said that as per an internal email the respective Business Heads, Harsh Sheth (HM&EC), Devika Prabhu (Kids and Infotainment), Koustuvi Ghosh (Star Jalsha), Vikrant Pawar (Live Entertainment), and Rahul Patil (Network Business Analytics), will now report to Bose.

Additionally, for Star Bharat, Ira Choudhary (Programming), Rahul Gandhi (Marketing), and Shivendra Verma (Programming Strategy ad Insights) will report to Bose in their respective capacities.

Bose has been with Disney Star for over a decade, successfully leading Star Jalsha and more recently Star Plus to established leadership positions.

He has been with Star TV Network for nearly 13 years, serving in various roles such as VP of Marketing, Senior VP and Business Head of the Bengal Cluster, Executive VP and General Manager of the Bengal Cluster, and Executive VP and General Manager of Star Plus.

Before that, he was the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at PE Electronics from July 2010 to March 2012. From June 2007 to September 2010, he held the position of General Manager and Head of Marketing Communications at Tata Teleservices.

Between August 2006 and May 2007, he served as Head – Brand Experience at Bharti Airtel. In the past, he was also associated with HDFC Bank, Game Plan Sports, RK Swamy/BBDO Advertising and Sobhagya Advertising. Marketing Mind
