DAZN nets ‘€400m a year’ Ligue 1 broadcast rights deal

Taking effect from the 2024/25 campaign, the deal includes all 306 fixtures, and is reportedly worth €400m (£343.2m) annually.

DAZN will provide live coverage of eight weekly matches until the end of the 2028/29 season, which will be available through a ‘dedicated Ligue 1 experience’ on the streaming platform.

Pay-TV provider BeIN Sports has meanwhile agreed to pay €100m (£85.8m) a year to broadcast the elite French league’s 5pm Saturday games.

The deal sees DAZN bolster its domestic football rights portfolio that already includes Germany’s Bundesliga, Spain’s LaLiga, and Italy’s Serie A elite divisions.

Outside of football, the London-headquartered media giant’s expansive content offering in France includes NFL Game Pass, the PFL, and French basketball’s LNB Élite top-flight league.

“In France DAZN will be the home of Ligue 1,” said Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group.

“DAZN believes in partnership and recognises the responsibility we have taken on to work with the LFP, the clubs and the broader French football ecosystem.

“DAZN wants to see Ligue 1 grow in reach, audience and value. We can help deliver that with our fan-focused innovative approach to production, marketing and distribution.” Sport Industry
