TRAI releases 2024 regulations for digital connectivity ratings in properties

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released regulations namely “Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity Regulations, 2024 “.

The authority has decided to bring a framework for rating of buildings or properties for digital connectivity to promote creation of good digital connectivity through a collaborative and self-sustainable approach.

These regulations are being notified to encourage and nudge property managers for providing good digital connectivity experience to their existing and prospective customers. A property with better ratings shall attract more users, buyers or investors and thereby add value to the properties.

These regulations apply to property managers seeking digital connectivity ratings for qualifying properties, Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs) that evaluate and award ratings, and service providers collaborating with property managers on digital connectivity infrastructure.
