Prasar Bharati invites bids for e-auction for MPEG-4 slots on DD Free Dish

Prasar Bharati has invited applications for allotment of vacant MPEG-4 slots on DD Free Dish DTH Platform for the period from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, through its 7th annual/86th online e-auction. The e-auction is likely to be held from March 4, 2025. The last date of submission is February 25, 2025. Only satellite channels with licenses issued by MIB can participate. This includes approved international public broadcasters.

e-auction process for MPEG-4 slots will be held bucket-wise, one slot at a time. For Bucket R1 and Bucker R2, the reserve price for round 1 is Rs 5,00,000, and Rs 1,500,000 for round two. The first round for bucket 3 is kept at Rs 5,00,000.

Slots for various buckets/rounds
If slots earmarked to Buckets Rl, R2 & R3 remains vacant after the completion of auction of that bucket, it would be filled through Regional Open Round (RO) of regional languages channels in which all unsuccessful bidders of Buckets Rl, R2 & R3 and yet to be launched / re-launched channels of these languages may bid.

If slots pertaining to Buckets RI, R2, R3, RO, t3l & t32 remains vacant after the completion of auction of that bucket, it would be filled through General Open round (‹30) e-auction.

Reserve Price for MPEG-4 slots for different rounds/Buckets
For unsuccessful bidders, participation fee will be refunded within three weeks after the declaration of the results of e-auction.

After the successful conduct of e-auction, a ‘Letter of Allotment’ will be issued by Prasar Bharati to the successful bidder along with the ‘Payment Schedule’ for payment of bid amount and prescribed format of agreement to be signed between Prasar Bharati & bidder.
