Tata Sky Binge+ Android Set-Top Box Reportedly Launched In India
Tata Sky has reportedly launched its first Android TV set-top box, Tata Sky Binge+ in India. The hybrid set-top box runs on Android 9 Pie operating system and comes with the Google Play Store that will give users access to a wide range of applications and games. It has an inbuilt Chromecast for casting and screen mirroring for screen sharing.

The Tata Sky Binge+ has been priced at Rs 5,999 in India. Customers purchasing Tata Sky Binge+ will get one-month free subscription of Tata Sky Binge service that offers premium OTT content.
The STB has a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.8Ghz and paired with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage which is also expandable via dedicated SD card. It supports 4K and Dolby Atmos.
Users can connect their smartphone with Bluetooth and use their phone as a smart controller or even as a remote. They also get an option to pair their headphone via Bluetooth to enjoy an immersive sound experience.
Further, the STB’s remote has a microphone and dedicated Google assistant button for voice control. The box gives users access to the DTH, IPTV and other OTT content. It additionally provides live TV through satellite and internet. Users can directly purchase services in a single tap to activate channels in the box.
Tata Sky told online publication site, DreamDTH (who first reported the news), “It combines the benefits of DTH and OTT enabling the subscriber to watch both linear channels and OTT content from popular apps on a single screen.”―Times Now
