A+E Inks New Deals For Knightfall

An A+E Studios production in association with The Combine and Midnight Radio and starring Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey, Gunpowder), Knightfall goes inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages who were entrusted with protecting Christianity’s most precious relics. The story of the Knights Templar has never been fully told until now, and Knightfall goes into the world of the legendary brotherhood of warrior monks to learn who these knights were, how they lived, and what they died believing.

In the US, season one of Knightfall reached 25 million total viewers in Live + 7 across Total Day on HISTORY. The series is also currently the broadcast season’s #3 new drama in cable among total viewers in Live +7 delivery.

New licensing agreements have now been closed for HISTORY in the UK, Italy and South Korea; Canal D (French-speaking Canada); Euro TV (France); Deutsche Telekom (Germany); OTE Cinema 1 (Greece); Manoto and Starz Play SVOD service (Middle East); Box Channel (New Zealand); Viasat Pay Channels AB (Nordic, Russia and CEE); HBO (Poland); TVSeries (Portugal); Ren TV (Russia); SABC (South Africa); Dramax and K-Star (South Korea); HBO (Spain and Andorra); Nitro and Neox – Antena 3 (Spain); and True ID, True ID TV, True TV (Thailand).

And in another major fillip for the drama, A+E Networks also confirmed that the new season will feature Hollywood legend Mark Hamill who will swap his Star Wars light sabre for a lance. Aaron Helbing is on board as showrunner and executive producer. – Rapid Tv News
