Airtel Digital TV Increases Subscribers by 9.6 Percent in Q2

Airtel Digital TV has added 499,000 subscribers in the second quarter of 2017. By the end of June 2017, Airtel Digital TV operated in 639 districts of India. It served 13.3 million DTH customers at the end of the quarter, representing an increase of 9.6 percent, as compared to the corresponding quarter last year.

ARPU for the quarter stood at Rs. 228 as compared to Rs. 233 in the same quarter of 2016, while revenue from digital TV services had increased by 7.2 percent to Rs. 8974 million compared to Rs. 8369 million in the same period of 2016. EBITDA for this segment continued to improve and was at Rs. 3300 million as compared to Rs. 3011 million in the corresponding quarter last year.

EBITDA margin improved to 36.8 percent in the current quarter, as compared to 36 percent in the corresponding quarter last year. EBITDA for the quarter was at Rs. 1038 million in the current quarter, as compared to Rs. 1219 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
