Alain Weill leaves the Altice France group
Media and telecoms group Altice France announced in a statement on Thursday a change in its management, with the departure on July 1 of Alain Weill, founder of NextRadioTV (with the brands BFM and RMC) that he had sold in 2015 to Altice, the group of Patrick Drahi.
“Alain Weill will be leaving his position as Chairman and CEO of Altice France, Chairman and CEO of SFR and Chairman of Altice Media, on July 1, 2021,” it said in the press release.
Grégory Rabuel, currently CEO of the telecoms operator SFR, will succeed him as CEO of Altice France and CEO of SFR.
The current CEO of Altice Media, Arthur Dreyfuss, will become CEO of Altice Media, while retaining his position as Secretary General of Altice France-SFR.
In a message to employees relayed in the Altice France press release, Alain Weill explains that he will “launch and implement new projects in the media and digital”, keeping his links with Patrick Drahi and with the Altice group.
“I still remain associated with the Altice group, which is a shareholder of L’Express, which I am working on relaunching. This is only a first!” Reuters
