Amazon launches line of Branded Fire TVs
Amazon Oct. 27 launched its first-ever line of branded high-definition televisions. The Omni TVs combine Amazon’s Fire TV streaming with voice-activated Alexa — essentially turning the TV into an internet-connected smart hub in the living room.
In addition to live TV, users can search for movies and shows, dimming the lights, check sports scores, who rang the Ring doorbell, etc., — all done hands free. Users can also change profiles, switch HDMI inputs, and adjust the picture settings with their voice.
“What’s powerful about the Fire TV Omni Series is it can bring people together by enabling two-way video calling with Alexa Communications, and coming soon, with Zoom,” Amazon wrote in a blog post. “Now you can sit back on the couch and call friends and family on the big screen by simply plugging in a USB webcam into your Fire TV Omni Series.”
The Fire TV Omni Series starts at $409.99 and is available in 43”, 50”, 55”, 65”, and 75” model sizes. The 4-Series starts at $369.99 and is available in 43”, 50”, and 55” model sizes. Media Play News
