Atul Kumar Chaudhary appointed secretary, TRAI

Atul Kumar Chaudhary is now the secretary of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. He succeeds V Raghunandan, who retired on May 31, 2024.

Prior to this, Chaudhary, a 1989-batch ITS officer, was DDG- UIDAI.

Previously, he was posted as a deputy director general (DDG) at the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

He worked in various capacities in the personnel, human resource (HR), administration, licensing, vigilance divisions of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and DoT.

Chaudhary is an IIT Roorkee graduate and holds a Master’s Diploma in Public Policy & Administration from IIPA, Delhi.
