Bloomberg TV dropped from DirecTV, DIRECTV STREAM, and AT&T U-Verse after 25 years
DIRECTV, along with DIRECTV Stream, and AT&T U-Verse, have dropped Bloomberg TV after more than 25 years.
DirecTV continues to offer other financial news channels such as CNBC, Fox Business Network, and Cheddar. It also has the news networks CNN, MSNBC, BBC World News, and CSPAN.
“We were the first to launch the original Bloomberg Direct financial news service in 1994 and have often enjoyed a productive business relationship in the several years since,” DirecTV said in a statement on Friday. “Despite several creative attempts, it’s unfortunate we were unable to continue this relationship.”
AT&T also states, “While we regret this inconvenience to viewers of Bloomberg TV, please be aware that we offer several other financial news outlets featuring up-to-the-minute information and diverse perspectives on our DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, and U-verse lineups.”
Bloomberg TV responded with a statement of its own, saying, “DirecTV’s decision to remove Bloomberg TV at the end of our current agreement on September 30 is disappointing, given our active negotiations and good faith engagement throughout the process.”
A free version of the Bloomberg service, though without the ticker feature, is available from live apps on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Roku, and Samsung Smart TV. Streamable
