BSNL adds two lakh new customers in August in Kerala

BSNL is all set to make a big leap in Kerala this year through various schemes ranging from low-cost smart home schemes to Sarvatra Wi-Fi, a novel scheme unexplored by other service providers.

In a press conference, BSNL Kerala Circle Chief General Manager B. Sunil Kumar revealed the company’s targeted mission to bring in huge profits this financial year. With other service providers increasing their rates, the number of people who have switched to BSNL in the last month has reached 1.7 lakh in the state. The trend is showing an upward swing which has turned into a huge boost for BSNL.Currently, 25.2% of the mobile phone customers in the state are using BSNL. FTTH and 4G penetration providing high-speed internet is hugely popular with BSNL. Out of 7000 mobile towers in the state, 2500 have been converted to 4G. Work is ongoing to change the rest of the towers to 4G. The 4G tower is built in a way that can be switched to 5G.Bandwidth for the K-FON project is provided by BSNL. Also, Wi-Fi hotspots are being provided for the public at 2048 places in the state, which is used by one lakh people every month.
