BSNL introduces innovative high-speed internet plans for Non-OTT consumers

BSNL has introduced new high-speed fibre internet plans aimed at customers who do not use OTT services. These OTT-free plans, which came into effect from July 6, provide speeds up to 25 Mbps more, a first-of-its-kind offering by BSNL.

Following demands from technical and marketing departments across various BSNL circles, changes have been implemented in the Rs 599, Rs 699, and Rs 799 monthly plans. For instance, the previous Rs 599 plan included OTT services with a speed of 75 Mbps. Now, a new OTT-free plan at the same price offers an increased speed of 100 Mbps, with a monthly data cap of 4000 GB maintained for both options.

BSNL’s initiative aims to cater to customers who do not require OTT services, potentially reducing internet traffic and unnecessary costs associated with OTT subscriptions. Voice call integration with mobile company plans, as well as SMS inclusion, is currently under review by the Telecom Regulatory Authority. It is in this context that BSNL puts forth the new plan.

This move by BSNL is also designed to streamline services and provide more tailored options to meet the diverse needs of its customer base. Through this, BSNL can also save unnecessary payments to OTT providers. Mathrubhumi English
