DAZN and Movistar Plus+ reach a distribution agreement for LaLiga

DAZN, the leading global sports streaming platform, has closed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with Movistar Plus+, the leading entertainment platform in Spain, for LaLiga starting next season.

DAZN, which was awarded the exclusive broadcasting rights for 175 matches of the top national competition for the 2022-23 to 2026-27 seasons, will make this package available to Movistar Plus+ customers, as part of the integrated DAZN offer on said platform, both through its App and its linear channels.

Football fans who are not Movistar Plus+ customers can also contract the DAZN LaLiga package directly on the DAZN App. DAZN will be in charge of the production of these five games per day and will incorporate a new team of presenters, narrators and commentators to print their own style to the broadcasts.

DAZN thus ensures the commitment of the main telecommunications operator to support the growth of OTT sports consumption in Spain. The agreement represents another big step in the growth of DAZN in the Spanish market; Previously, DAZN had already closed similar strategic collaborations in other markets: Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and Swisscom in Germany, TIM in Italy and KDDI in Japan.

The agreements reached with LaLiga and DAZN reinforce the relationship with the best partners to continue promoting our Infinite Stadium with an offer matchless sport,” he said.

Since its launch in Spain in 2019 and in just three years, DAZN has secured a powerful sports offer that includes, in addition to this LaLiga package, the Copa del Rey, the Premier League, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the Copa Libertadores , the Copa Sudamericana, the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup or the MLS.
