DAZN retains LaLiga media rights in Italy and Portugal

Sports media platform DAZN has extended its exclusive broadcast rights deal with Spanish soccer’s LaLiga in Italy and Portugal for another five seasons.

Confirmed:

  • 380 matches from Spanish top-flight to be shown by streaming platform both live and on-demand
  • Agreement to expire at the end of the 2028/29 season
  • Games from Spanish second-tier Segunda Division, including promotion playoffs, also included in deal
  • Additional content such as news, analysis and highlights also to be shown by DAZN

Context:
DAZN has held the LaLiga rights in both Italy and Portugal since 2018. The deal in Portugal was agreed by Eleven, the sports streaming service acquired by DAZN in 2022.

DAZN also has been in a domestic broadcast partnership with LaLiga since last season and has the international rights in other international markets.

Comment:
“At LaLiga we always look for best-in-class partners to deliver Spanish football to fans everywhere,” said Javier Tebas, LaLiga president. “And we are delighted to continue working with DAZN in countries with the historic football tradition that Italy and Portugal have.”

Coming next:
DAZN’s coverage of LaLiga continues with Matchday 32, which will include the El Clásico clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona on 21st April.  SportsPro Media
