DirecTV adds four new channels to the streaming lineup
DIRECTV on Monday added a quartet of channels to its streaming service.
The four channels are Yahoo Finance, TIME, The Design Network, and Alien Nation. They went live earlier Monday.
They come on top of nine streaming channels that DIRECTV added to its service over the last several months as the company tried to win over cord cutters. While the company’s core business remains in satellite TV, it’s presence in streaming has grown over the years.
Yahoo Finance is a financial news network that tracks the markets and economy, similar to CNBC and Bloomberg. It’s on Channel 4021.
TIME, whose roots come from the famed news magazine, offers news, profiles, in-depth analysis, and documentaries. It’ll also have content tied to its annual features like the TIME Person of the Year and TIME100. It’s on channel 4012.
The Design Network focuses on “fashion and function of home,” with viewers getting home tours, insight on the latest trends, and programming featuring interior experts. Shows on the channel include Design in the Details and Tiny BNB. It’s on 4365.
Alien Nation will cater to anyone interested in aliens and paranormal activities. From Phenomenon: The Lost Archives and Evil Encounters, Bigfoot Beyond the Trail, and Sasquatch Unearthed: The Ridge are among the shows you’ll catch on the network. It’s on 4490.
This comes after it had previously added channels like Cheddar, Fox Nation, Sportsgrid, and Tastemade. Cord Cutter News
