Grass Valley announces expansion of GVx Leadership Council
Grass Valley, leading innovator of solutions for live production, is pleased to announce it has doubled the number of board members joining GVx, the company’s invitation-only thought-leadership advisory council. As part of its broader set of customer-centric strategic initiatives, the purpose of GVx is to identify the key challenges facing the industry and to work collaboratively to define and develop the best solutions.
Made up of senior executives from across some of the largest and most influential media and entertainment groups, GVx was established to ensure that market trends, insights and requirements are incorporated into Grass Valley’s strategy and product development direction in a systematic and purposeful way.
“The importance of open dialog for informed decision-making is vital to our respective success, and good feedback relies on honest and open lines of communication,” says Del Parks, President Technology at Sinclair Broadcast Group and Chairman of the GVx Leadership Council. ‘’I was honored when Louis asked me to Chair the Group, and we have expanded the original GVx leadership council to include a broader representation from some of the most respected industry leaders across media and entertainment, streaming platforms, service providers, and technologists.”
The GVx Council met at NAB 2023 and gained an early insight into the future of Grass Valley’s investments in Hardware and Software solutions, shared case studies of recent deployments of its market leading AMPP platform, a software-centric operating system for media around the world, previewed GV’s new enterprise service and delivery model, and provided feedback to the Grass Valley leadership team. Under the governance section, the Council approved the appointment of Mike Strein (Director, Engineering and Technology, ABC News) as Vice Chair and the addition of its expanded membership. The group also discussed key topics around rethinking the media facility of the future and transitioning media workflows to the Cloud.
“I’m deeply honored and privileged to have a group of 30 of the most respected and recognized leaders in the industry collaborate with Grass Valley on its future. We are investing heavily across our hardware portfolio and software platform and recruiting extensively to accelerate our technology roadmaps. Our clients are embracing our vision and we believe we have an opportunity and responsibility to lead the industry’s navigation through this next phase of transformation” said Louis Hernandez, Jr. CEO of Grass Valley.
