HBO Max app launches on Cox Communications platforms

WarnerMedia and Cox Communications announced today that the HBO Max app is now available to Cox Contour customers on their set top boxes, making it easier than ever for subscribers to seamlessly access the popular streaming platform’s full portfolio of programming in one integrated experience.

Cox customers can now access HBO Max via their Contour 2 or Contour Stream Player devices by opening the HBO Max app using their Contour remote or by saying “HBO Max” into their voice remote to launch the app. Customers are also able to subscribe to HBO Max directly via their Contour TV device using their remote.

The launch on Cox devices comes just in time for the release of the highly anticipated feature film Zack Snyder’s Justice League which debuts on HBO Max on March 18 and will be available in 4K Ultra HD, HDR 10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos to Cox Contour customers on supported devices.

HBO Max is WarnerMedia’s direct-to-consumer platform, offering best-in-class quality entertainment and featuring the greatest array of storytelling for all audiences from the iconic brands of HBO, Warner Bros., DC, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies and more, as well as all-new Max Originals. The streaming platform initially launched in the United States in May 2020 and will expand into 39 territories throughout Latin America in June, and the HBO-branded streaming services in Europe (the Nordics, Spain, Central Europe, the Baltics and Portugal) will be upgraded to HBO Max later this year.

Cox Contour customers will have seamless access to HBO Max’s entire catalog of programming, including an array of new series and films debuting throughout the month. The anticipated Warner Bros. film Godzilla vs. Kong will debut on HBO Max on March 31, the same day it premieres in theaters, and will be available on the platform for 31 days at no additional cost to subscribers. There’s also the new dramedy series Genera+ion debuting March 11, and the premiere of three new documentaries: Tina, COVID Diaries NY and Persona: The Dark Truth Behind Personality Tests. To top things off, Superman: The Animated Series flies onto HBO Max for the first time in high definition, alongside the first two seasons of Final Space and the “South ParQ Vaccination Special.” Movie lovers can sit back with A-List hits including the Rocky film series, Speed, the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy, and Academy Award® winner The King’s Speech.
