IBDF requests govt to resolve airing content of national interest issue

The Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF) has requested the Central Government to either delete the provision that mandatorily requires broadcasters to air public-service content for a specified period of time, or make its implementation voluntary or provide subsidies and tax incentives to those broadcasters who voluntarily air public service content.

In the recently released, ‘Guidelines for Uplinking and Downlinking of Television Channels in India, 2022’, it has been made mandatory for all the channels to air content of national interest daily from January 1. BCS Bureau
