IndiaCast Media Distribution files revised RIO under NTO

IndiaCast Media Distribution, the authorised agent of TV18 Broadcast Limited for the distribution of the TV18 channels across India, has filed a revised Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO) under the new tariff order (NTO) 2.0 as mandated by TRAI. The revised price structure will come into effect from April 1. The new RIO contains revised bouquet offerings including the yet-to-be-launched sports channels, whose launch is subject to certain clauses.

IndiaCast as of now is distributing 57 HD and SD channels in news and entertainment genres in multiple languages.

The sports channels, tentatively named Sports18 and Sports18 HD, have been priced at Rs 12 and Rs 9.6, for consumers and the operators, respectively. They will be available in HD and bouquets of various channel packs.

Viacom18’s entry into the sports broadcasting segment last year had made headlines; the broadcaster has already bagged the rights to marquee sports events such as the Abu Dhabi T10 series, FIFA World Cup, NBA, etc. The broadcaster as of now telecasts its sports events through Vh1 and MTV.
