INS urges media agencies to refrain from indulging in ‘unfair business practices’

The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) has released a statement to warn agencies about indulging in unfair business practices.

According to a statement shared by the INS on 7 August 2023, the body has been told that some agencies continue to indulge in unfair business practices like pitching for clients by getting heavily discount rates on behalf of member publications. However, these discounts are being pitched to clients without the prerequisite approvals from the concerned publications.

The INS claims that this in against the provisions of the agreement executed by the agencies.

The agencies are being told to refrain from indulging in such practices failing which the INS will take strong action, not limited to issuing a notice of disaccreditation. Campaign India
