Jio faces massive outage across India
Around 1:44 pm, June 18, Reliance Jio users across India reported significant disruptions in their internet services. The outage affected access to popular applications such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and Google, leading to a surge in complaints from users who depend on these platforms for daily activities.
According to Downdetector, a real-time problem and outage monitoring website, “over 54% of the complaints received are related to issues with mobile internet access. Additionally, 38% of the complainants reported problems with JioFiber, the company’s broadband service. A further 7% of users are experiencing disruptions with mobile networks.”
Cloudflare Radar said: “Reliance Jio faced a nationwide disruption, starting at 07:45 UTC, with traffic dropping as much as 53 percent compared to the previous week. Recovery began at 08:30 UTC.
Jio has yet to make any response about the glitch officially. This isn’t the first time a Jio outage has caused problems for users. In April, Jio users experienced a similar issue where they couldn’t access the internet or use social media platforms. The same problems are being reported now, and users are seeking a fix for the Jio network downtime.
