Jio Studios unveils new logo: a symbol of india’s global cinema aspirations

This Diwali, Jio Studios, a key player in the Indian entertainment industry, unveiled more than just a blockbuster film with Singham Again. The studio also launched an innovative moving logo that underscores its commitment to impactful storytelling rooted in Indian culture.

The new Jio Studios logo animation begins with a spark of energy that evolves into the word “Jio,” symbolizing the birth of an idea. This spark then transforms into a stunning mandala design, representing the universe in its ideal form. The animation features moving dials with Indian languages and musical notes, culminating in the formation of a golden lotus—a symbol of purity, resilience, and renewal in Indian culture, closely linked to Brahma, the creator of the universe. As the lotus blooms, the intricate mandala reveals Jio at its center, with the sound of a sitar accompanying the final crescendo as the Jio Studios logo emerges.

2024 has been a particularly remarkable year for the studio, marked by hits such as Article 370, Shaitaan, and Stree 2, all of which have performed well both domestically and internationally. Singham Again achieved the second-largest opening of the year, while Laapata Ladies was selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars, cementing Jio Studios’ 100% success rate for the year. With such a track record, Jio Studios is poised to maintain its leadership in the Indian entertainment sector, with an ever-growing influence on the global stage.

The animation is minimal yet impactful, using just black and gold to convey timelessness and ethereal beauty. It encapsulates Jio Studios’ mission of showcasing India’s creative potential globally with the phrase, “Make in India, Show the World.” This visually rich and culturally symbolic logo reflects the studio’s dedication to crafting stories that resonate deeply with audiences, both in India and around the world.

Speaking about this special milestone, Jyoti Deshpande, President of Media and Content Business at Reliance Industries, said, “2024 has been an incredible year for Jio Studios in which we enjoyed back-to-back box office successes and critical acclaim alike with Stree 2 and Lost Ladies (Laapataa Ladies). A moving logo is an emotion, it is the embodiment of our brand and our values while it captures our vision, and I am particularly happy with the way our logo celebrates our Indianness and wears it on its sleeve. Our new moving logo not only honours our rich heritage but also symbolizes our ambition to keep pushing boundaries with scale and innovation. Purity of Ideas and storytelling form the soul of Jio Studios, and this logo reflects our resilient journey beyond languages and genres, to bring unforgettable, uniquely Indian narratives to audiences all over the world.”

With its new logo, Jio Studios underscores its ambition to solidify its presence on the global stage, inviting audiences everywhere to join in celebrating its rich legacy and the bold path ahead. This move not only highlights the studio’s commitment to powerful storytelling but also positions it as a key player in the global entertainment industry. MoneyControl
