Mandate of both AIR & DD as public broadcasters is to disseminate authentic and credible information: DG AIR Vasudha Gupta

Director General (News) All India Radio (AIR) Vasudha Gupta has said that the mandate of both AIR and Doordarshan as public broadcasters is to disseminate authentic and credible information to the public through its news, cultural programmes and informative panel discussions.

The Director General who was on a one-day visit to Meghalaya, took stock of the technical and programme capabilities of both AIR and Doordarshan. She urged the staff of both AIR and Doordarshan Shillong to work in synergy and produce programmes and content that will benefit the people of the State and neighbouring regions.

The Director General has been touring the different Northeastern States for the past few days to assess the functioning of Prasar Bharati and its organisations in the region. Earlier she visited Aizawl, Agartala and Guwahati. News on Air
