Many TV channels made available for free through Prasar Bharti’s DTH
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said that many TV channels are being made available free of cost through Prasar Bharti’s DTH run by the Central Government to educate, entertain, and provide information about the glorious history of India to the people.
The Union Minister, interacting with media persons after inspecting Doordarshan Kendra in Hisar, directed the concerned officials to maintain cleanliness and ensure the auctioning of damaged items. “By commencing such campaign, the cleanliness of Doordarshan Kendras will be maintained and the government will also get revenue from the auctioning of damaged items,” he said.
Thakur also inspected the studio, camera unit, library, transmitter hall, and canteen set up in Doordarshan Kendra during the inspection tour. He also directed the officials to prepare and send a detailed report including the programmes aired and viewers of the programmes during the last one year through the Doordarshan Kendra.
