MIB urges TV channels to spread COVID SOP awareness amid festive season
The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has issued a general advisory on adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour amid the festive season. MIB has urged all TV channels to broadcast messages and other content to inform people about the crucial need to adhere to COVID appropriate behaviour, exercise due precautions, avoid crowded places, adhere to limits on public gathering, etc. and not let one’s guards down, especially keeping in mind the ongoing festive season across the country.
Praising the media for its role in the fight against the global pandemic, MIB in its statement said, “Media has been at the forefront of informing people at large about the need to adhere to COVID appropriate behaviour and other communication relating to vaccination, etc. for combating COVID-19.”
MIB stressed that COVID appropriate behaviour such as maintaining physical distance, wearing mask, regular handwashing, etc., is a must to prevent risk of future resurgence of COVID-19.
The Ministry cautioned, “It remains crucial to not let our guards down, especially in view of the festive season and we must continue to remain vigilant and celebrate our festivals with utmost precautions.” Adgully
