Ravi Mittal, a 1986-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He succeeds Amit Khare.

RN Mishra has taken charge as director general (east), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He will be in charge of functioning of the offices of Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Regional Outreach Bureau in the east zone, comprising West Bengal, Ranchi, Patna, and Odisha. Mishra, a 1987 batch IIS officer has served in News Services Division, All India Radio, DD News, PIB Delhi, and other organizations under the Ministry of I&B.
