Sony Pictures Networks India has appointed Raj Mohan Srinivasan as chief information officer. Srinivasan was previously in an entrepreneurial role. With over 30 years of varied industry experience, Raj will be a key contributor for the company’s technology and IT strategy. Over a three-decade long career, he has also worked with IBM and Oracle.
Dharshini David has been appointed global trade correspondent for BBC News. This newly created role will enhance the BBC’s coverage of trade at a time when it is making headlines every day. As global trade correspondent, Dharshini will join the dots, explaining what is happening and why it is happening. She will provide a global perspective for international and domestic audiences, contributing to BBC News output across television, radio, and online.
SonyLIV has appointed Manish Aggarwal as head – growth and monetization, Digital Business. He will be responsible for strategizing the subscription business (both India and international) of SonyLIV. He will also be responsible to maximize revenue through syndication, licensing, and partnership for the platform. Prior to joining Sony Pictures Networks, Manish worked with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., as principal cluster head – advertising sales.
K Madhavan has been promoted to country manager of all of Disney’s conventional TV businesses in the Indian market. He was previously head of Disney’s regional language TV businesses in South India since 2016. He takes over from Sanjay Gupta, who has resigned as head of Star. Uday Shankar, the former Star head who became head of the merged Disney and Fox businesses in 2019 across the entire Asia-Pacific region, will become acting head of Hotstar. Nitin Bawankule who had recently taken charge of ad-sales for HSM, sports and Hotstar will report to Madhavan for the TV business, and will work directly with Shankar for Hotstar ad sales. Other Fox executives staying or in the enlarged structure include Sanjay Jain, former CFO at Fox’s Star, as head of finance; Deepak Jacob, from Star’s legal department, is chief regional counsel for India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East; Prateek Garg, previously head of business development and acquisitions at Star, becomes head of corporate development; and Jannie Poon, becomes head of corporate communications.
