News Broadcasters Federation ties up with legal tech startup Webnyay
The News Broadcasters Federation (NBF), India’s largest trade body of television news channels, has partnered with legal tech company Webnyay to collect, collate and address complaints on content in news television channels.
NBF’s Professional News Broadcasting Standards Organisation (NBF-PNBSO) is a self-regulatory organization which aims to ensure that news broadcasters uphold the highest standards and ethics in journalism. The organisation will also hold news channels accountable while disseminating news and information.
Commenting on this collaboration, NBF Secretary General R Jai Krishna said in a press release,
“The partnership will facilitate viewers of the channels and broadcasters to build a credible news information network and address any anomalies virtually by NBF’s Professional News Broadcasting Standards Organisation (SRO)”.
Webnyay aims to facilitate resolution of complaints and disputes in a secure and seamless manner. It provides technology and dispute management services for resolving complaints and disputes online.
“NBF – Webnyay partnership will allow viewers of news and satellite TV across languages and states to raise any complaint against a news channel in their own language from the very comfort of their homes.
