Qvest unveils new broadcasting facilities for TNN

Qvest has developed a new, future-proof production environment for Thai News Network in the heart of Bangkok. The international Qvest team was responsible for the overall project management and technology consulting, which led to the start of operation of the new broadcasting facilities with its unique design concept.

The project’s scope for Qvest regarding the relocation and upgrade of the broadcasting facilities covered a wide spectrum. As prime contractor for TNN, Qvest oversaw the general project management, including consulting and project management responsibilities from the interior design phase, over the equipment procurement process, and more steps before the final relocation and go-live of channel TNN16. The new newsroom, office area and three studios were crafted with an emphasis on a unique visual identity rooted in TNN’s corporate design. The new facilities of TNN are located at the True Digital Park 101. At Southeast Asia’s largest tech and start-up hub, around 250 TNN employees work in the two areas Events Hall and Glass House. The Qvest team orchestrated specialized companies as key partners to execute the project, such as Clickspring Design from the USA. The design firm was responsible for the facility’s holistic architectural master planning, as well as the design of all interior spaces, including three main broadcast studios supported by media-rich, branded set design. For light design and all architectural tasks, Qvest worked with the German specialists at mo2 design.

The main objectives for the relocation of TNN were an uplift to a global broadcasting standard while providing a superior working environment focused on productivity, collaboration, and holistic well-being of the employees. To meet these requirements while creating a suitable representation of the broadcaster, the new facilities were put into operation in the new location in this urban hotspot of Bangkok with a unique setting. With experience in these matters, Qvest orchestrated the project with its partners in two phases. The initial phase involved master planning and concept design to lay the foundation for the subsequent design development and specification phase. Within the second phase, accurately incorporated curved shapes and flows were implemented into the interior design, harmonizing these elements with Feng Shui principles to promote balance and positive energy. A focal point of the project was the integration of state-of-the-art broadcast technology. Qvest conducted a technology review, identifying optimal solutions and providing general recommendations to enhance TNN16’s broadcasting capabilities.

Ongard Prapakamol, Head of TrueVisions and Media Division, Managing Director of Thai News Network, says, “The new facilities have significantly enhanced our team’s productivity and broadcasting capabilities, providing a state-of-the-art environment that fosters creativity and collaboration. Working with Qvest and their partners was a seamless experience. Their expertise and innovative approach were instrumental in realizing our vision. The integration of such advanced technology solutions has elevated our broadcasting standards and confirms our ambition as leading news agency in Thailand and even far beyond.”

Michele Lai Chin, Sales Director APAC at Qvest, adds, “Our goal was to create an exceptional working environment that reflects the core values and production standards at TNN and also fosters a great atmosphere among its staff. We are delighted about this trustful and successful partnership with TNN on this ground-breaking endeavor, marking Qvest’s inaugural project in Thailand.”
