rlaxx TV now on Samsung smart TVs
The linear advertising-financed video-on-demand service (FAST + AVOD) has thus taken a decisive step towards global technical reach. Rlaxx TV is currently available in the DACH region, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Brazil and the United Kingdom. The streaming service is already available on around 85 percent of smart TVs in these markets.
In order to be able to access the TV offer, users of a Samsung Smart TV (from product generation 2018) only need to search for the app in the Smart TV area of their device and position it on the home screen for a relaxed TV experience. All content is financed by advertising and viewers can use it completely free of charge.
rlaxx TV pursues “worldwide ambitions”
“As the world’s largest smart TV provider, availability on Samsung devices is a special milestone for us. This not only applies to the markets in which we are already active, but also applies to our plans for the future. This illustrates our global ambitions, which we are consistently pursuing “, says Ronny Lutzi, CEO of rlaxx TV.
At the launch of rlaxx TV, those responsible had already declared their great ambitions in a conversation with DIGITAL FERNSEHEN – and in view of the new deal with technology giant Samsung, they are working successfully on their implementation.
Richard Jakeman, Senior Director Business Development, Samsung Electronics, ergänzt: “Samsung is committed to providing its users with the best possible TV experience, from the first-class picture quality and user interface to the growing range of content and services on the platform. As the shift to streaming accelerates, Samsung will continue to add additional services to meet the increasing demand for FAST services on the platform and we are excited to be part of rlaxx TV’s global expansion. “
This year on all devices
rlaxx TV should be available on all internet and video-enabled devices by the end of the year and will now concentrate more on expanding technical accessibility to other countries in order to achieve a greater global reach. The launch in Turkey, Australia and New Zealand is planned for the coming months.
“Premium niche”
With a selection of topics focused more on niche programs, the streaming service wants to “address the passions of almost every target group, no matter how special”. Rlaxx TV calls this concept a “premium niche”. Current media partners include international owners of video and TV rights for premium content such as Nitro Circus, Street League Skateboarding, Comedy Dynamics, Young Hollywood, New KPop, New KFood, Afroland TV, PowerNation TV and others. This content offer is continuously developed. To do this, the streaming service relies on a global network of content partners who license precisely tailored formats for many categories to rlaxx TV – from music, sports, kids, lifestyle, adventure to international feature films.
